In September 2015, we commenced major maintenance work of the Oosterscheldekering: grit blasting and preservation of 32 steel doors. The goal for 2016 was to complete 4 of the steel doors.

The goal for 2016 has been achieved: 4 of the 32 steel doors have been completed,just before the start of the storm season that commences on the 1st of October every year. An impressive job, because despite the fact that the summer of 2016 has been recorded as one of the best summers, we actually experienced that a little differently on the Oosterscheldekering. Several times we had to brave the heavy surges that significantly disrupted the production schedule. Through the tremendous commitment and flexibility in implementation, we were able to achieve our goal.
